Milda Baginskaitė is a Lithuanian screenwriter and director based in the UK. Her short films have received several awards for best directing, writing, production design and editing at New York International Children's Film Festival, Underwire London FF, Aesthetica SFF, Brest European SFF, Short Shorts Film Festival and Asia to name a few.
She has also directed a handful of award-winning music videos and micro shorts which have been awarded special mentions at Berlin Commercial Festival.
Milda is a Berlinale Talents alumna and a selected member of BAFTA Connect and Directors UK. She is also a graduate of Screen Yorkshire’s development program FLEX. The TV series she has developed during the program with a team has been optioned by a Warner Bros Discovery production company Wall to Wall.
Milda also directs theatre. Her largest stage project, a hybrid theatre and film production “My Old Man” toured UK theatres in 2021. In addition, her experimental storytelling work has been commissioned by FACT in Liverpool and HOME in Manchester.
Milda's work has been backed by BBC Arts, Arts Council England, BFI, Girls in Film and others. She is currently working with Japanese publishing company KODANSHA on her latest short film “Little Pains” (produced by Diva Rodriguez) which starts its festival circuit in summer 2025.
Milda’s directing talent has been acknowledged by multiple international Talent Labs - Berlinale Talents, Reykjevik Golden Egg, New Creatives, Widening the Lens, Kyoto Filmmakers Lab to name a few.
